6. Curbside
Curbside is Migs Palispis (vocals) Niko Ylaya (guitars) Russel Manaloto (guitars) Bret Meneses (bass) Chase Bantug (drums). Curbside started around the first quarter of 2010, and ever since these guys started to play they gathered enough attention to say that these guys are fo’real in other words “legit”. Writing songs about different experiences and observations and all that bull s**t runi’n through our mass media. But Curbside isn’t here just to make noise and attract attention but they are here most importantly because they want to express themselves and by sharing their talent as a band to other people. Curbside’s music is a combination of “Distortion that will bite your neck off” sounding guitars, sexy bass lines and heart stopping drum beats topped with a melodic and hip hop vocal flow that will surely bring you to the pit. Curbside released their first E.P. on the 20th of December 2010 entitled “Bite the Curb” and their 2nd E.P. on the 19th of December 2011, and both were a success. As of now Curbside is still on songwriting mode and is continually tightening their craft, but one thing is for sure they are here to stay and ready for whatever challenges the future might bring to these young musicians. Welcome to the Curbside.
5. Parokya Ni Edgar
Originally named Comic Relief, the band's initial members were vocalists Chito Miranda, Jeric Estaco, and Vinci Montaner, and guitarists Mikko Yap and Gab Chee Kee. They were regulars in after-school jam sessions, before performing an opening number for an Eraserheads concert. This served as their break in the music industry and prompted them to add a drummer and bassist – schoolmate Dindin Moreno and Buwi Meneses, respectively. Around the same time they changed the band's name to Parokya ni Edgar. After high school, Mikko and Jeric withdrew from the band to pursue other interests. Soon after, the remaining band members invited their friend Darius SemaƱa (lead guitar) to take the role of lead guitar.
