REFLECT ON SOMETHING:

I was amazed when I found out that the Government gave a Budget every year for the Music scene here in the Philippines and I found out that Mr. Ogie Alcasid The OPM Ambassador receives the budget from the Government. But Instead of putting it on the whole music scene here in the Philippines he Just put it in the mainstream scene which is unfair to the underground scene as a part of the music scene of the Philippines. I found out that even the music scene here in our country has something to do with corruption and inequality. and now that I found out that bullshit I want to get rid of Him but instead of being mad at him I'll just Don't give a damn, I'll just continue making Music with or without the Goddamn budget. And we as the Underground family we'll just do what we do and it is expressing ourselves and not to please the people.

Suggest An Idea: Designate  a Radio Station for Independent Music Scene.

I think it would be nice if the government designates radio stations for the Independent Music Scene that will be aired nation wide as a support to Original Pinoy Music (OPM). Bands from the Underground Scene will be able to showcase their Music nation wide.

Writing songs about different experiences and observations and all that bull s**t runi’n through our mass media. But Curbside isn’t here just to make noise and attract attention but they are here most importantly because they want to express themselves and by sharing their talent as a band to other people. Curbside’s music is a combination of “Distortion that will bite your neck off” sounding guitars, sexy bass lines and heart stopping drum beats topped with a melodic and hip hop vocal flow that will surely bring you to the pit. Curbside released their first E.P. on the 20th of December 2010 entitled “Bite the Curb” and their 2nd E.P. on the 19th of December 2011, and both were a success. As of now Curbside is still on songwriting mode and is continually tightening their craft, but one thing is for sure they are here to stay and ready for whatever challenges the future might bring to these young musicians. Welcome to the Curbside.

While some would be in danger of being pegged in one genre, the band has stayed put in Pinoy rock’s consciousness for the past 13 years because of their evolving but always explosive sound. Slapshock draws you in with a concord of unforgettable and haunting sounds, only to have your senses assaulted with ragged and raw power.

St. Benilde student dies in a Hazing Incident.

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) – Police are investigating the death of a college student in what is believed to be a hazing incident in Manila, according to a radio report on Sunday, June 29.
DzMM reported that Guillo Cesar Servando, 18, a sophomore student at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (DLS-CSB), was found unresponsive inside a unit of One Archer's Place along Taft Avenue in Manila. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Philippine General Hospital, where he and 3 of his schoolmates were rushed after a supposed hazing ritual.

My Opinion: I’m not a frat member but I know what fraternities truly do when they are recruiting their neophytes, they will sales talk their neophytes discussing all the benefits of their fraternity just like they will support the members of that particular fraternity in their academic problems most especially for their protection and etc. Some fraternities are not following the rules They will say that they were an anti-hazing Fraternity until the neophytes arrives at the place where the neophytes are being Initiated by the fraternity rituals and then the neophytes has nothing to do because they were forced.

I think Anti-Hazing law must be implemented to all fraternities all over the whole Philippines specifically. Brotherhood is not about hurting it’s about loving, respecting and caring to each other, so why hurting when there is an alternative way on how neophytes can join fraternities like community service and a grade basis form. Fraternities must be a good model to the next generation they should erase their bad image to the children of tomorrow so the next will understand that fraternities are not in to riots, killing, war, syndicate, drugs or whatever that is wrong to their eyes.

This case of Guillo Cesar Servando and his 3 schoolmates must be a lesson to others and the last Incident of hazing here in the entire Philippines. Fraternities must be monitored by the authority specifically to assure the safety of the person who wants to join a particular fraternity. Fraternities must have a clear rules and regulation for initiating and fraternities must be guided by the school if ever the school legalized fraternities inside the campus.
