St. Benilde student dies in a Hazing Incident.

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) – Police are investigating the death of a college student in what is believed to be a hazing incident in Manila, according to a radio report on Sunday, June 29.
DzMM reported that Guillo Cesar Servando, 18, a sophomore student at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (DLS-CSB), was found unresponsive inside a unit of One Archer's Place along Taft Avenue in Manila. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Philippine General Hospital, where he and 3 of his schoolmates were rushed after a supposed hazing ritual.

My Opinion: I’m not a frat member but I know what fraternities truly do when they are recruiting their neophytes, they will sales talk their neophytes discussing all the benefits of their fraternity just like they will support the members of that particular fraternity in their academic problems most especially for their protection and etc. Some fraternities are not following the rules They will say that they were an anti-hazing Fraternity until the neophytes arrives at the place where the neophytes are being Initiated by the fraternity rituals and then the neophytes has nothing to do because they were forced.

I think Anti-Hazing law must be implemented to all fraternities all over the whole Philippines specifically. Brotherhood is not about hurting it’s about loving, respecting and caring to each other, so why hurting when there is an alternative way on how neophytes can join fraternities like community service and a grade basis form. Fraternities must be a good model to the next generation they should erase their bad image to the children of tomorrow so the next will understand that fraternities are not in to riots, killing, war, syndicate, drugs or whatever that is wrong to their eyes.

This case of Guillo Cesar Servando and his 3 schoolmates must be a lesson to others and the last Incident of hazing here in the entire Philippines. Fraternities must be monitored by the authority specifically to assure the safety of the person who wants to join a particular fraternity. Fraternities must have a clear rules and regulation for initiating and fraternities must be guided by the school if ever the school legalized fraternities inside the campus.
